How Math Doctor works

Three steps between "I can't do math" and "I've got this."

01

The Skills Evaluation

Every student begins with a one-on-one diagnostic. Dr. Cheryl pinpoints exactly which concepts are solid and where the gaps hide - often years below the current course. No guessing, no generic curriculum.

02

A Plan Built for One

The evaluation becomes an individualized roadmap: which foundations to repair, which grade-level skills to build, and in what order. Parents see the plan. Students understand the why.

03

One-on-One, Every Session

Always Dr. Cheryl herself - never a rotating cast of part-timers. Sessions happen in person in Melbourne or live online, paced to the student in front of her, adjusted week by week.

What families say

Loved across Brevard County.

"Dr. Avila is one of the most patient and professional Math experts I have met in my life. For months she worked with me in my preparation for my PhD study, which involved statistics and different types of calculation, depending on what we were focusing on each time. Not only did she explain the concepts in easier ways to someone who is not a fan of statistics, but she would also ask me questions and challenge me to look for new ways of understanding these concepts. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone willing to overcome their Math issues of any kind. She will not disappoint you."

"Dr Cheryl is a professional who has dedicated her life to a subject that she loves. Her goal is for every child to develop a deep understanding of the mathematical concepts that will make them successful math students, and not just test takers. I tutor younger students for reading and math, and always recommend Dr Cheryl as the next and best step for students for math."

Bonnie French · Local Guide on Google

"Dr. Cheryl Avila, PhD after serving her country as an army officer, is a very experienced mathematics teacher with many years of teaching Mathematics in Public schools in both Florida and New Mexico. Both her personal teaching experience and academic research gives her keen insight in determining specific things which may help or hinder an individual student's learning potential. She will carefully evaluate each student's background before accepting anyone as a student and let you know if she believes whether or not she can help you before accepting payment."
